Medicare Changes in 2026

Each year, Medicare makes changes to Part A for hospital services, Part B for outpatient services, and IRMAA (Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Account). You may not be paying for Part A if you or your spouse has worked and paid into Medicare through Social Security. However, most people will be paying for Part B outpatient services. Depending on your income, you may be affected by IRMAA on what you pay for Part B and Part D (Drug Plan).

Here is a quick breakdown of the main changes for Medicare in 2026:

Part A

  • Inpatient hospital deductible increased to $1,736.
  • Daily hospital coinsurance for 61 -90 days increased to $434
  • Daily hospital increased to $868 per “lifetime reserve day” after day 90 of each benefit period (up to a maximum of 60 days over your lifetime).
  • You pay 100% after day 150.

Part B

  • Part B premium increased to $202.90 per month.
  • Part B annual deductible increased to $282.
  • You pay 20% of all Medicare-approved outpatient services.

Depending on your modified adjusted gross income for the past two years, you could pay more. For more details, tap on IRMAA (Income Related Monthly Adjustment Account).

For 2026 Part B premium.

  • If your individual tax return is $109,000 or less, Part B is $202.90 per month.
  • If you file a tax return jointly $118,000 or less, Part B is $202.90 per month.
  • If your modified adjusted gross income was more, you can tap here to find your possible Part B premium.
