Does Medicare have Ambulance Service?

Date

If you have Medicare Part B with or without a Medicare Supplement Plan the answer is yes. Or if you have a Medicare Advantage Plan Part C, it should also have an ambulance service. So here is a deeper dive into the ambulance service for Medicare Part B. This is from Medicare.gov  “Part B covers ground ambulance transportation when you need to be transported to a hospital, critical access hospital, or skilled nursing facility for medically necessary services, and transportation in any other vehicle could endanger your health. Medicare may pay for emergency ambulance transportation in an airplane or helicopter to a hospital if you need immediate and rapid ambulance transportation that ground transportation can’t provide.” Please keep in mind that Medicare Part B in 2021 has a $203.00 annual deductible and you are responsible for 20 % of all approved services.
